What is experimental video?

Experimental video is finding new ways how to film. It is when some one brings in a fresh idea just like TV Magnet by Nam June Paik in 1964. He used TV sets and made a new form of experimental video. There also is Maria Gabriela Ocanto who filmed, performed and directed the 4 minute long Cell where she films a small red padded room with her and lights. I have looked into this and for my project I have found out that I can use anything for my video from televisions to lights.
